Along the journey to Bejing and within the
magical event of Olympics themselves, there are troublesome financial
burdens placed upon our Olympic teams. Our goal as Friends Of
The Mens United States Water Polo Team is to provide a means of
transactional and peer support directly to the mens' team. In return,
we offer an expanded view and coverage of the Olympic event with access
to the team in ways never before seen or heard.
Likewise, you can pledge not only your financial support, which undoubtedly provides not only stability and flexibility to the team, but you can share your enthusiasm and hope for a 2008 victory with personalized messages to team members, the entire team, and even coach Schroeder!
Each year USA Water Polo receives compensation from the USOC for the Men's and Women's water polo teams. The amount of the compensation is not equal and the Men's team must therefore work on a tighter budget each year. Over the past four years, reorganization within the USOC and USA Water Polo organizations have made it that much more difficult for the Men's team to practice, play and travel in their efforts to increase their standings in the water polo rankings. Terry Schroeder has made tremendous strides over the past 18 months to keep our team competing against the best and raising the team's ranking throughout the world. Still, he needs our help.
Any donation large or small can help. Whether it is giving up 1 coffee for the week to pledge that money to the team or checking with your employer for a matching contribution program at work, it all helps the team. This team has worked so very hard in preparing to bring the Men"s Water Polo gold back to America, so show your team spirit and make a donation and/or cheer on the team!
